Flow Fundraising is a small canvassing organization founded by Christopher Lindberg in 2023.

We employ canvassers in Portland, OR to fundraise for The Nature Conservancy.

Canvassing is a way non-profit organizations talk to members of the public about the work that they do, and ask those members of the public to become long-term donors who will give a small amount each month to be part of the work that the non-profit is doing.

It’s important because it is currently the most successful method of recruiting committed supporters for nonprofit organizations. Canvassers are fundraising all over the world, and as more non-profits realize the benefits, you can expect to see more canvassing activity across the USA.

A role in canvassing is rewarding and hard work. Canvassers might be employed by the non-profit directly, or by an agency who specializes in this kind of work (e.g. Flow Fundraising).

Canvassers are trained on the key messages and work of the non-profit, as well as on how to get those messages across in a way that inspires and excites potential donors. During and after training, canvassers will go to their agreed site (a sidewalk, event etc.) with the intention of having as many conversations as possible about how potential donors can make a substantial positive impact through their support of the non-profit.
